Configuring the Mastery Learning Gradebook

Note: The course must have outcomes and rubrics attached to assignments for any data to display in the Learning Mastery Gradebook.

The mastery learning gradebook is a feature that allows instructors to setup assignments with outcomes and rubrics for capturing assessment data. The mastery gradebook is still in beta and is currently offered under feature options in a course. To turn this option on click Settings in the left navigation of the course. Click Feature Options. Move the toggle to the On position next to Learning Mastery Gradebook and if desired set the toggle to on next to Student Learning Mastery Gradebook. This will allow students to see the mastery learning data for themselves as well.

Viewing the Mastery Learning Gradebook

If the mastery learning gradebook is enabled in a course, click Grades in the left navigation of the course. Review the numbered items below.

On the Grades screen click Learning Mastery tab above the list of students. Instructors can switch to view the individual view if desired. If the course has more than one section, instructors can filter by section (merged courses only).
The outcomes will display at top of each column in the Learning Mastery gradebook. As assignments are graded with the rubric/outcomes the learning mastery gradebook will display colored indicators of mastery. Outcome statistics for the entire course or a course section can be viewed according to course average, course median, or course mode. Point the mouse over an outcome to see a more detail report about the outcome and student progress. The Outcome legend can be expanded or collapsed by clicking the arrow.
The outcome data can be exported in CSV format.
