Testing and Grading

Tests and quizzes must be completed by 11:59 on the due date.  NO student will be able to make up a test! The due dates are listed on the first day of class for all homework assignments, discussions, quizzes, tests, projects.   I strongly recommend working ahead as you never know when a child might get sick, you might get sick, you might take a vacation or your computer might shut down.  A good policy to have is to always stay one unit ahead on homework that way you are never behind and always ready for the quiz.

No homework will be accepted late.  All homework must be completed and turned in by 11:59 on the due date; this includes discussion board postings.  Otherwise it is an automatic zero for the homework assignment.  Post discussions early!  If you wait until the last minute to post discussions you are not participating.  Students should plan on spending a minimum of 3 hours each week working on homework and tests.  You only need to type the answers to the homework questions so you do not have to fill-in the worksheets.  ex:  1. A, 2. B etc.

Reminder!  Points will be taken off if you do not cite your sources in your assignments!  Please do not plagiarize!

I will re-grade every quiz, every time.  Some of your answers will be automatically marked incorrect by Canvas because they are fill in the blank.  If you spell the word five instead of putting 5, Canvas will mark this incorrect.  That does not mean you answer is incorrect!!  I will re-grade every quiz every time after the quiz closes.  This means if you take the quiz on Wednesday and it closes on Thursday I will not grade it until Friday.  You do not have to email me every time Canvas marks something incorrect that is actually correct.  I will re-grade it – every time.

Lastly, all correspondence should be free of typos and grammatically correct.  I will not respond to emails that contain “texting” language or lack punctuation.  College is to prepare you for the workplace and therefore all correspondence should be professional in appearance and content.  This includes: discussion boards, papers, emails, chats, and homework.

Grades will be based on assignment completion, quality of work, and timely participation.
