Homework and Tests
Tests and quizzes must be completed by 11:59 PM on the due date. The due dates are listed on the first day of class. I strongly recommend working ahead as you never know when a child might get sick, you might get sick, or your computer might shut down. A good policy to have is to always stay one unit ahead on homework that way you are never behind.
No homework will be accepted late. All homework must be completed and turned in by 11:59 PM on the due date, this includes discussion board postings. Otherwise it is an automatic zero for the homework assignment. Please complete all of your homework in WORD and attach the document to the assignment.
Post discussions early!!! If you wait until the last minute to post discussions you are not participating. Students should plan on spending a minimum of 3 hours each week working on homework and tests.
I will re-grade every quiz, every time. Some of your answers will be automatically marked incorrect by Canvas because they are fill in the blank. If you spell the word five instead of putting 5, Canvas will mark this incorrect. That does not mean your answer is incorrect! I will re-grade every quiz every time after the quiz closes. This means if you take the quiz on Friday and it closes on Monday I will not grade it until Tuesday. You do not have to email me every time Canvas marks something incorrect that is actually correct. I will re-grade it – every time!!
The extra credit quiz is just that – extra credit. If you choose to take it that is fabulous, if you don’t want to take it that is fine as well. The extra credit quiz is worth 50 points and is based on coding procedures.
Grades will be composed of readings, assignments, tests, quizzes, participation, and final exam
Grade Scheme
The following grading standards will be used in this class:
Grade | Range |
---|---|
A | 100 % to 90.0% |
B | < 90.0 % to 80.0% |
C | < 80.0 % to 70.0% |
D | < 70.0 % to 60.0% |
F | < 60.0 % to 0.0% |
