CLASS DESCRIPTION- An individual approach to assist students to develop a lifetime of wellness through fitness. Students will be required 2 hours of physical workouts each week during class time. No prerequisites required.
Class Presentation
This class will have all lecture the first half of Monday’s class and all of Wednesday’s class. The lab component of this class is your fitness workouts. Workouts need to be completed in the Fitness Center on Monday and Friday. Class will meet in FH 107 and workouts in Fitness Center. Monday we will meet at 12:30 in Classroom. Wednesday at 1:00pm in Classroom. Friday’s workout must be completed by 2:00pm in Fitness Center. Final exam is Wednesday, May 8, 2024 at 12:30pm.
Textbook- Lifetime Physical Fitness
Course Outcomes
- For each student to gain knowledge on the function of the body as fitness principles are applied.
- Students will implement a fitness program that will be performed twice a week in the Fitness Center.
- General Health knowledge will be gained through the information in health related units.
- Life changing habits will be addressed to increase the student’s awareness to healthy living.
Assessment Goals- 85% of the class will complete the required 28 class workouts.

- 100-90%
- 89%-80%
- 79-70%
- 69-60%
59 and below is failing
ATTENDANCE POLICY
ON THE THIRD ABSENCE YOUR GRADE WILL BE REDUCED BY 1 PERCENTAGE POINT FOR EACH ABSENCE AFTER YOUR 3RD. LATE WORK WILL HAVE A 5% REDUCTION IN GRADE. A MISSED TEST MUST BE MADE UP WITHIN ONE WEEK OF THE ORIGINAL TEST DATE.
Types of Evaluation
Tests- 4 that will equal 400 Points
Quizzes- They will vary in amount of Points—Quizzes are usually on Monday’s.
Fitness Workouts- 30 are required- We will work out every Monday and Friday in Class. If you do not miss any work outs you will obtain the required 26 workouts in class. Each completed workout is worth 10 points. The workouts will last at least 30 minutes depending on the day.
