An introduction to the fundamental processes and structures common to all living things along with their application to society. (IAI L1 900L)

Grading:
Grades will be determined by the following class components:
Lab Reports/Assignments 214 pts.
Paper/Project 50 pts.
Five Hourly Unit Exams/Quizzes 550 pts.
Final Exam 200 pts.
Total Points 1014 pts.
Attendance:
Attendance will be recorded for each lecture and lab meeting. Out of respect for other students and the instructor you are expected to be in the room on time. Your grade will reflect attendance and class participation. If you will be unable to attend two or more consecutive class meetings, please contact me at my office, leave a message under my door on my voicemail or e-mail me.
PLEASE NOTE: YOU WILL BE WITHDRAWN OR FAIL THIS CLASS IF YOUR NUMBER OF ABSENCES EXCEEDS EIGHT.
Lab Assignments:
Lab reports or data sheets will be required for some labs. These will be explained during each lab.
Hourly Exams:
Information covered will include lecture notes and laboratory concepts.
Make-Up Policy:
Tests may only be made up if notice was given for a particular absence PRIOR to the given class meeting. Laboratory exercises and field trips MAY NOT be made up and you will receive a grade of zero for that day.
Cell Phone Policy:
Out of respect for other students and the instructor, cell phones must be turned off prior to entering the classroom. Texting during class is NOT permitted. Cell phones must be placed on table top in plain view. Texting during class will result in a recorded absence.
Final Exam:
The comprehensive final exam for this class will be given on Wednesday, December 13, 2023, from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.
