Textbook-Kinesiology of the Musculoskeletal System

COURSE DESCRIPTION

This class focuses on the study of functional musculoskeletal anatomy, muscle actions and the laws of physics used in the performance of human motion.

CLASS OUTCOMES.

List and identify the origins, insertions, actions and nerve supplies of muscles of the body.

Describe arthokinematics of the joints of the body.

Identify the planes of the body and give an example of joint motion within each plane.

 ATTENDANCE

  • After 3 absences- if absences are unexcused you could be dropped from the class or lose points toward your final grade.
  • Late work will have a 5% point reduction
  • A missed test must be made up the within one week of test day.

Presentation of Class

Class will meet on Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 8:50am. 

Final Exam- Wednesday May 13, 2025 at 8:00 am

Evaluation

Tests-100 points

Quizzes 20-50 points

Presentation - 100 points

Grading Scale

A-100 to 90 percent

B- 89-80 percent

C-79-70 percent

D 69-60 percent

F- 59 percent and below

Course Assessment

  • Assessment of the course is done by using embedded test questions in the 4 tests that students take during the term of the course. Goal for the class is 85% of the class scores at least 80% on embedded questions.
